New photographs added to the Mining and Collecting page
I hope everyone is having a fun summer and staying cool! It’s been pretty hot here in Phoenix lately, so I decided to work in my office and update a few things on my website.
1) I finally had a chance to search through hundreds of field collecting photographs and decided to post 57 new ones to the Mining and Collecting page of my website. I have been very lucky over the years to have had the opportunity to field collect for fluorescent minerals since I graduated college in 1981. While in college, with my geology mentor and friend Dr. Bob Carnein, I was lucky to have field collected in the Sterling Hill mine six times while the mine was in full operation. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take photographs during those trips.
I wish to thank several of my good friends and collecting buddies over the many years of my career. Guys like Corby Waste, AJ Lombard, Brad Bingham, Dr. Kerry Cooper, Andrew Niziol, Mike Sawicki, Nate Johnson and David Giebelstein. And of course, I wish to thank my wife Deborah who has joined me on several collecting trips and has collected many fine specimens herself.
2) I am currently working on a new US Showcase update. As always, those on my email list will be notified the moment these new specimens are uploaded to my site.
