Fluorescent Mineral Magazines for Sale

Shown below are two Rocks & Minerals magazine back issues for sale. Both issues were dedicated to fluorescent minerals in order to complement the theme for the 2021 and 2022 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. During the 2023 Tucson show I visited the Rocks & Minerals magazine booth to say hello to Marie, who is the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. While there she asked if I could help them sell the two back issues focusing on fluorescent minerals. I told her I would and now have them both for sale through my website.

The first issue is the January/February 2021 issue. On the cover is a photograph of the largest and most aesthetic specimen of wickenburgite, willemite and fluorite ever produced from the Potter-Cramer mine in Arizona.

The second issue is the January/February 2022 issue. On the cover is a photograph of a very nice specimen of Shuster Park margarosanite, willemite and calcite from the Franklin Mine in New Jersey.

If you do not subscribe to Rocks & Minerals, these two issues would make a great addition to your fluorescent mineral reference library. Since magazines cannot be sent via media mail, and due to the weight of both issues, the cheapest way to ship these is through the US Post Office, Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope. The shipping cost is $13.00. The magazines will be shipped with a piece of cardboard for protection during shipping.

Price listed does not include shipping. To order, simply email your request, along with your mailing address.

The theme for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show for 2021 was fluorescent minerals. With that in mind, Rocks & Minerals magazine decided to do an issue dedicated to fluorescent minerals. The Editor-in-Chief Marie E. Huizing contacted me in 2018 and asked if I would be willing to write a couple of articles for this issue. I decided to write an article on the Potter-Cramer mine in Arizona, a mine that I have owned since 2002. The Potter-Cramer mine is the Type Locality for the rare fluorescent mineral wickenburgite. I also decided to write an article on designing the fluorescent mineral display for the Alfie Norville Mineral Museum in Tucson. Along with the two articles I wrote, there are many other great articles about fluorescent minerals in this issue.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show was cancelled in 2021. The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society decided to once again have fluorescent minerals as the theme of the show. Again, the Editor-in-Chief Marie E. Huizing contacted me to see if I would write an article for this issue as well. I said I would be happy to and wrote the definitive article on the Nellie James mine in Arizona. Along with the article on the Nellie James mine I wrote, there are many other great articles about fluorescent minerals in this issue.
